Orvis’ design is inspired by nature and place. On rolling hills, land was carefully chosen for architecture, much like a farmer first cultivates the land, creating a village that embraces life and activity. Once home to pottery-making, this site’s soft soil and undulating hills enhance its beauty, integrating and expanding into nature. Natural slopes flow indoors, shaping spaces that function as terrain. Vertical and horizontal variations connect segmented spaces, framing nature. Light, wind, and vegetation enrich movement, fostering sensory experiences.

奧維斯的設計靈感深植於自然與地域脈絡之中。建築座落於起伏的丘陵之上，選址過程如同農夫順應地勢耕作，審慎而細膩，最終形塑出一座充滿活力與生命力的聚落。這片土地曾是製陶之鄉，鬆軟的土壤與層層起伏的丘陵為建築注入獨特氣質，使其不僅融入自然，更彷彿自地景中自然生長、向外延展。地形的坡度被引入室內，轉化為如地貌般起伏流動的空間語彙，讓建築與土地形成連續而緊密的關係。垂直與水平的層次變化串聯起不同區域，在行走與停留之間，不斷框取周遭的自然景致。光影的流轉、微風的穿梭與植被的滲入，進一步豐富了空間的節奏與流動性，營造出層次細膩、感官飽滿的建築體驗。
