裝潢風格 ｜ 老屋改造 ｜ 時光衍構 ｜ 二魚設計

本案榮獲 2026 義大利羅馬設計獎 Rome Design Awards – 金獎。本案為逾二十載舊住宅翻修計畫，以「時光重生」為設計語境，回應老屋採光不足、動線破碎與空間封閉等結構問題。設計承襲「五餅二魚」哲學，將有限空間資源轉化為多重使用場域，捨棄全面拆除，以最小介入策略保留骨幹，使既有格局於重組後產生使用效能的延展性。

This renovation project breathes new life into a residence that has stood for over two decades, anchored by the evocative design concept of “Time, Grown Into Form.” In addressing the inherent challenges often found in aging homes—including inadequate natural lighting, fragmented circulation, and isolated spatial arrangements—the design seeks to enhance both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Moreover, drawing inspiration from the philosophy of “Five Loaves and Two Fish,” the project transforms limited spatial resources into dynamic, multifunctional environments. In contrast to complete demolition, we have chosen a strategy of minimal intervention, which allows us to preserve the existing structural framework. This thoughtful approach not only retains the character of the original home but also facilitates a reconfigured layout that promotes improved spatial flexibility and extended usability, ultimately resulting in a harmonious blend of old and new.

設計以「光學建築學」為起點，將光視為流動建材，透過天花線性導光與人字拼地坪的對位關係，重構空間邊界與方向性。自然光依時序滲入，清晨與午後形成不同層次的漫射與投影，賦予場域隨時間生成的感知變化。

The design concept is rooted in the intriguing idea of “optical architecture,” which treats light as a fluid and transformative building material. By skillfully establishing a harmonious dialogue between sleek linear light guides in the ceiling and the elegant herringbone-patterned flooring, the design intricately redefines spatial boundaries and influences the sense of directionality within the space. Moreover, as natural light streams in throughout the day, it casts varying degrees of diffusion and creates captivating shadows that shift and dance across the surfaces during the early morning and afternoon hours. This dynamic interplay not only enriches the aesthetic experience but also imbues the environment with perceptual transformations that evolve over time, inviting occupants to engage more deeply with their surroundings.

組織架構上，以天然石材中島構築重力核心，整合料理、社交與停留行為，將原本割裂的動線重組為儀式性流動軸線。同時將原有封閉儲藏空間轉譯為穿透藝廊，並以冰柱玻璃消融實體隔閡，使功能性空間轉化為光影流動的展示場域。

In the realm of spatial organization, the natural stone island emerges as the focal point, elegantly uniting the essential activities of cooking, socializing, and relaxation within a singular, harmonious environment. This thoughtful design effectively reconfigures the previously disjointed circulation patterns into a ceremonial axis of movement, guiding visitors seamlessly through the space. Furthermore, the original enclosed storage areas have been artfully transformed into an airy open gallery. By incorporating frosted glass, the design skillfully dissolves physical barriers, allowing functional spaces to transition into vibrant exhibition areas where light and shadow interact beautifully, enriching the overall aesthetic and experience.

私領域導入「碎形美學」，於衛浴空間以非線性幾何語彙打破對稱秩序，使牆面、鏡面與光源形成多重反射與切割關係，設計語言在秩序與破碎間取得動態平衡，形塑具張力的空間性格，藉此回應當代對個體性空間的需求。

The private spaces are thoughtfully designed with “fractal aesthetics,” which employ non-linear geometric forms in the bathroom to intentionally disrupt traditional symmetry. By doing so, the design fosters an intricate interplay of reflections and intersections among walls, mirrors, and various light sources. As a result, this creates a dynamic visual narrative that engages the senses. Furthermore, the design language strikes a striking balance between order and fragmentation, ultimately shaping a space that exudes a palpable tension. This tension not only captivates but also responds adeptly to the contemporary demand for personalized environments, offering a unique experience tailored to individual preferences.

本案整合全熱交換器（ERV）與除濕系統於頂面，建立隱形環境調節機制，在不更動原始開窗條件下，維持空氣循環與熱力學穩定。同時導入低揮發性塗料、FSC木材與高耐久石材，以一次到位策略延長使用週期。最終將住宅轉化為具自我調節能力的健康居住系統，時光得以重構，並於光影中持續流動。

This innovative project seamlessly integrates an energy recovery ventilator (ERV) alongside a sophisticated dehumidification system discreetly tucked into the ceiling. This thoughtful design creates an unobtrusive environmental control mechanism that expertly maintains air circulation and thermal stability while preserving the original window configuration. Furthermore, the careful selection of materials—such as low-VOC coatings, FSC-certified wood, and resilient stone—significantly enhances the building’s durability. This commitment to quality embodies a “get it right the first time” philosophy, ensuring the longevity of the residence. Ultimately, these elements come together to transform the home into a self-regulating, healthy living system. In this harmonious environment, the perception of time is redefined, flowing gracefully through the dynamic interplay of light and shadow.
