Salvador Dali 達利

In Salvador Dali’s works, drawers are a common motif that symbolizes the human subconscious, which, like an onion, is divided into different layers. We transform the space into an alternative universe—a parallel dimension. The ceiling and the floor in the room are misplaced and switched. A hole is bored in the ceiling, as if someone has trampled on the ceiling and broken it, and through the hole falls a suitcase, echoing many other suitcases on the other walls. While a traveler is journeying in this time and space, another traveler in another time and space is going on a trip as well. The suitcase that falls through the hole suggests a sky beyond this sky, and still another unknown world beyond another one.
